Tami Walker brings nearly 20 years of franchise ownership experience to automated spa franchise

Tami Walker, whom we welcomed into the Planet Beach family in 2010, is now our newest area representative in the Idaho area.

In just a short time, Tami went from owning one Planet Beach franchise to three, with plans to open another one in the future. Check out what Tami has to say about her newest role as Area Representative:

Tami Walker is Planet Beach’s new Area Representative in the Idaho area.

What were you doing before Planet Beach?

I was a Domino’s Pizza franchisee for 17 years. After leaving that business, I went into the agricultural mortgage business.

How did you find out about Planet Beach?

I was a member at the Boise location for three years before deciding to approach Planet Beach about opening my own franchise. I went online and contacted Planet Beach through their website. I had researched them a lot through Google. I contacted them in August of 2010 and signed a contract by December of that year.

Where are your Planet Beach locations?

The first one I opened is in Twin Falls, and the second location in Boise. We’re opening the third, which is currently under construction, soon  in Idaho Falls.

What will your role be as an Area Representative?

I’m responsible for training franchisees in my area. I have two franchisees in my area right now. I host trainings and put out materials for them to help them with their businesses and help them train their employees. I make sure from spa to spa that there’s no difference, that there’s consistency in the brand and helping to make the brand stronger. In the Boise market, the Planet Beach location has been known just for their tanning, so we’re working together to recreate what we are in that market. It’s also my job to get franchisees together and get them cooperating with each other.

What are your thoughts on this new role? 

I like that I have the chance to bring everyone together on common ground. Planet Beach is exciting because it’s a whole different approach to the day spa model. It brings a lot of good to people.

What’s your favorite part about being an Area Representative? 

My favorite part is I get to interact with everyone. I love explaining to people about the brand and what it has to offer. It’s one of the most rewarding things. It takes a lot of time, but our end result is going to be fantastic.

What sets Planet Beach apart from other spas?

It’s the 100 percent automation. Our members can come in and use the spa seven days a week if they wanted. The price structure is such that anyone can come. We change the way the world rejuvenates. We educate our members and we’re on the leading edge of technology. It’s really cool to be a part of Planet Beach.
