I’ve often heard the coined phrase, “those that play together, stay together.” This concept reigns so true as it relates to the relationship between the franchisor and the franchisee. Although most franchise concepts use methods such as newsletters, emails, telephone calls and onsite visits to communicate and uphold the relationship with their franchisees, there is one event that simply trumps all others. The prime opportunity to foster the ongoing relationship between the two parties is during the company’s franchise convention.

The planning process is well underway for the annual Planet Beach & HOTWORX Convention, which will be held at Harrah’s Hotel and Casino in New Orleans, July 23rd-26th. With the event being hosted in New Orleans, the acronym NOLA (New Opportunities Lead To Achievement) was chosen as the company’s theme.

The theme was chosen under the notion that new opportunities, such as operating procedures, sales techniques, trade dress and service offerings, lead to achievement in franchising. In order to succeed, one must use these new opportunities as a springboard to ultimately enhance the overall experience offered to the end consumer.

The Planet Beach & HOTWORX Convention serves as the number one training and networking event of the year, featuring expert panels, elite training sessions and vendor exhibits. It allows franchise owners the opportunity to convene under one roof, learn best practices from their fellow franchisees and develop strategies to increase performance. Although the majority of the training events take place in a structured setting, there are evening socials that allow the attendees to let their hair down and have a little fun. These informal moments are often where the real bonding and relationship building takes place. A franchise thrives the most when there is a mutual trust founded on open and honest communication. There is no email or phone call that will ever replace the true quality of a face-to-face experience. These informal social settings allow the franchisor and franchisee a “play together, stay together” experience that will last a lifetime.
